PARABLE OF THE FIG TREE IN A VINE YARD

The parable of Jesus about the ‘unfruitful‘ fig tree growing in a vine yard is a remarkable and interesting one which to be reviewed and solved.

Then he told this parable: “A man had a fig tree growing in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it but did not find any. So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, ‘For three years now I’ve been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven’t found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?’

“‘Sir,’ the man replied, ‘leave it alone for one more year, and I’ll dig around it and fertilize it. If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.’” Luke 13: 6 – 9 (NIV).

It seems like fig trees in Jesus’ time had a reputation for bareness. Remember the unproductive fig tree that was cursed in Matthew 24:32-35?

What in your opinion was the cause of bareness of this fig trees, especially the fig tree in Luke 13: 6 – 9?

Hello world!

In my time both as young believer and in ministry, I have seen Christians mis-interprete the bible, I have asked questions that couldn’t be aanswered and I have seen atheist attack Christianity because of their shallow
understanding of the Rhema behind the Logos of the scripture.
House of The Word (HoTWord) is a platform for Teachers and Christians to teach and ask questions begging for clarification.
Feel free to ask questions and with the help of the Holy Spirit, teachers of the Word will answer your questions.
No one is a custodian of all answers.”For we know in part and we prophesy in part” I Cor 13:9 KJV.
It is the Holy Spirit who can reveal the hidden things and redeem those who are lost from the truth
I Cor 4:3-4 says “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them’ KJV
